ICE HKA Evening Seminar on Super Typhoon Mangkhut – Aftermath & Implications on Hong Kong’s Façade Designs, Hong Kong


Typhoon Mangkhut sustained wind speeds of 195 km/h, coming within 100 km of the city at its closest, making it the most powerful since Typhoon Hope in 1979. It caused serious impact of the external façade of the existing building like houses, offices and commercial building etc. super typhoon may occur more frequently due to climate change.

With the consideration of this, enhancement for different type of glazing façade systems should be considered to ensure the structural integrity under super typhoon to not just only compiling with code of practices and practice notes.

The Lighthouse Club Hong Kong are the supporting organization of the Seminar,  Members are free to attend.
