Motto by Hilton Hong Kong SoHo is a prime example of a sustainable hotel initiative that has successfully achieved BEAM Plus EB Provisional Platinum Certification. The hotel focuses on energy-saving and carbon-reduction design, aiming for sustainable, healthy tourism. Dr. Rosana Wong will first present the sustainability measures embedded in the design of the hotel and explain how the project’s design intent - delivering energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and healthier indoor living - was translated into practical building strategies. These included a performance-focused envelope and systems integration, responsible material and construction planning, and DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) - enabled efficiencies to reduce waste and adverse impacts on-site. After the talk, we will tour the hotel to explore how cutting-edge technologies, including autonomous digital twins and AI-driven systems, have helped to establish this project as a new benchmark in sustainable hospitality design. Autodesk will then share with us how the use of sophisticated technology can assist in enhancing the sustainability of the built environment, including how AI and data connect with architects' workflows, particularly through data-driven design optimization and smarter planning. The tour is jointly organized with The American Institute of Architects HK Chapter.
